Inter are firming up plans for pre-season under Simone Inzaghi, with a friendly match against Swiss side Lugano set to be their first matchup.

This according to today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, who report that the friendly will be held on July 17-18, after the squad have been training together under new manager Simone Inzaghi.

The Nerazzurri players are set to convene for the first time under Inzaghi on July 8 at the club’s training facility, with Danilo D’Ambrosio and Roberto Gagliradini on holiday in Puglia and keeping fit by training at Lecce’s stadium.

With the new head coach having more than a week with the squad to begin evaluating players and instilling his tactical ideas, he will face his first match as Inter manager in the form of Lugano, pre-season opponents of the Nerazzurri for several years.

The encounter will give a very early glimpse into what the future holds, with Inzaghi’s tactical principles and the roles he designates for certain players being tested out in pre-season action.
