Inter-owned midfielder Christopher Attys will return to the Giuseppe Meazza from his loan with SPAL last season.

This according to Italian news outlet FCInter1908, who report that the Serie B club have declined the opportunity to sign the 18-year-old.

The player was sent out on loan to SPAL in the second division last season, and managed to become a regular fixture in the team, making 25 appearances and scoring two goals for the Emilia-Romagna club.

The loan deal included the option for SPAL to make the loan permanent, but the Serie B side have decided against buying the player permanently.

The reasons for SPAL’s decision are not clear, but it is now up to the Nerazzurri to decide on the 18-year-old’s future, in conjunction with the player and his entourage.

It is not currently thought to be probable that the player has a place at the Giuseppe Meazza in the immediate future, though whether the club look to find another loan for the player or sell him permanently remains to be seen.
