Barcelona Consider Making Sergi Roberto + Cash Offer To Inter For Lautaro Martinez, Italian Broadcaster Claims

Barcelona could look to offer Sergi Roberto to Inter as part of a deal to sign Argentine striker Lautaro Martinez.

This according to Italian broadcaster Sport Mediaset, who claim that the Blaugranas are weighing up the possibility of using the 29-year-old as a bargaining chip as they look to bring in Martinez.

Roberto’s name has come up as a target for the Nerazzurri in recent days, as the club look to replace the imminently-departing Achraf Hakimi with a right-sided player and are thought to have made exploratory contacts with the Spaniard’s entourage.

The 29-year-old’s current deal with Barcelona is set to expire in June 2022, and as of yet he has not been offered an extension, so the Catalan club could look to move him on in the summer for a fee rather than lose him for free next summer.

It is reported that Barcelona’s asking price for Roberto would be around €15-20 million, and it is thought that this amount could put Inter out of the race for the player.

However, Barcelona are also thought to consider Inter’s Lautaro Martinez a long-term target, and they could look to include Roberto in an offer for the 23-year-old in order to try and persuade Inter to sell the player, who they are thought to value at at least €90 million.
