Inter CEO Beppe Marotta has opened up about the possibility of Giacomo Raspadori’s arrival at Inter, with the 21-year-old Sassuolo striker linked with the Nerazzurri.
Speaking to local Rimini broadcaster SanMarino TV, as reported by FCInterNews, the Inter executive stated that while Inter admire the player, they are not currently ready to consider moving for him.
Marotta gave insights into the transfer strategy at the club, explaining that after the imminent sale of Achraf Hakimi to Paris Saint-Germain, the club are hopeful of retaining all significant squad members.
Despite this postitive news, however, his words emphasize that fans should not expect any expensive arrivals in the summer as the club look to stick to a financial plan and meet economic targets.
The Inter executive gives supporters a sense of how the club intend to approach the immediate future, and it is hoped that while the club will be financially diligent, the squad will remain strong.
About Simone Inzaghi he said:
“He is an excellent coach, who has proven to have great ability. He is the right and logical successor to a winning coach like Conte.”
On whether Inter could move for Raspadori:
“An attractive player not only for Inter, but for many clubs. We are not in a position to sit down at the table given the scope of Sassuolo’s request. We are talking about something else, not about this opportunity.”
When asked whether Hakimi would be the only significant departure, the Inter CEO was clear:
“I really think so, we are in the final phase of an operation which will bring oxygen to the company’s coffers.”
Asked about stricken Nerazzurri midfielder Christian Eriksen, he had this to say:
“He’s enjoying his break from football, I hope that he can come back to perfect health. At that point we will evaluate him as a player, but for now the most important thing is Eriksen as a person.”
