Inter are leading the chase to sign Chelsea wing-back Davide Zappacosta, ahead of the likes of Fiorentina and Atalanta.

This according to Italian news outlet L’Interista, who claim that the 29-year-old is currently the Nerazzurri’s top target to fill the right-sided role with Achraf Hakimi set to leave the club.

Hakimi’s departure to PSG looks imminent, and with Hakimi gone it is thought that the club will make a serious effort to bring in a player who can replace the Moroccan’s contributions.

Many names have been linked to the club in regards to the right side of the pitch, with the primary objectives being to find a player with a profile similar to the outgoing Hakimi while also staying within budgetary limits.

Zappacosta is thought to be a player who Inter Sporting Director Piero Ausilio admires and has followed for some time, and Inter could move for him.

Should the Nerazzurri try to sign the Chelsea man, who spent last season on loan at Genoa, it is thought that they are in good position to do so, with the Giuseppe Meazza the player’s preferred destination despite interest from other Serie A clubs.
