Inter have made contact with Chelsea over the possibility of signing wing-back Davide Zappacosta.
This according to Italian broadcaster SportItalia, who report that the 29-year-old Italian could be brought in as a replacement for Achraf Hakimi.
Hakimi’s departure from the Giuseppe Meazza for Paris Saint-Germain is imminent, and the Nerazzurri will look to bring in a direct replacement for the Moroccan in the window.
Many names have been linked as possible arrivals in the right-sided position in Simone Inzaghi’s squad, with Zappacosta thought to be among the profiles admired.
The 29-year-old, who spent last season on loan with Genoa, could be the right player to bring in, with a balance between having the right technical qualities to replace Hakimi and a valuation that will not be a problem for Inter’s budget.
The Nerazzurri are reported to be in talks with Chelsea over the possible sale of the player, with their interest made clear to the London club.
