Inter could look to sign Dutch wing-back Patrick Van Aanholt with the 30-year-old out of contract with Crytal Palace, but they would face competition from other Serie A clubs.

This according to Italian news outlet FCInterNews, who report that Inter, Lazio, and AC Milan are monitoring the player and could move for him in the coming weeks.

The Nerazzurri are thought to have made the arrival of a left-sided player a priority for the summer transfer window, with Ashley Young having departed for Aston Villa and Ivan Perisic’s sale still a strong possibility.

Van Aanholt could represent an appealing profile for the club, as they look to bring in a reliable option for Simone Inzaghi’s squad while staying within budgetary limits.

The club have been linked with a number of names in the window for the left-sided role, but are thought to struggle with the fee involved in most cases, whereas Van Aanholt would arrive on a free transfer.

The Nerazzurri are not, however, alone in tracking the Dutchman, with interest from Serie A and other European clubs thought to be directed qt the player, and for the moment Lazio and AC Milan are thought to be Inter’s main rivals for the player’s signature.
