Croatia’s national team doctor has given updates about the condition of Inter winger Ivan Perisic, who recently tested positive for COVID-19.
Speaking to Croatian news outlet Sportske, as reported by FCInter1908, the head of Croatia’s medical staff Sasa Jankovic explained that the 32-year-old is recovering well but must still remain in quarantine.
Perisic had been a standout performer for the Croatians in the group stage, but was disappointed to miss out on Monday’s clash with Spain, after being officially diagnosed with COVID.
The unfortunate timing of the diagnosis meant that the Croatian had to self-isolate as a precaution, and that he could only watch as his team were eliminated by a 5-3 scoreline in dramatic circumstances.
Despite this disappointment, the player appears to be making a full recovery from his illness, something which Croatia and Inter supporters will be happy to hear.
What the future holds and how he transitions back to playing fitness remains to be seen, but for now the player mus remained quarantined as a precaution.

“He’s fine. There are no problems, everything is fine now, but for the time being he has to remain in isolation.”
