Inter are clearly wary of having their transfer plans ruined by the sale of Lautaro Martinez so the club are preparing to offer the striker a new deal, according to report in the Italian media today.

As has been reported by Tuttomercatoweb, Inter know that if either Real Madrid or Atletico Madrid were to bid in the region of €90 million for Lautaro Martinez, it would be too good an offer to turn down.

The Nerazzurri also know that if contract talks drag on too long, the player may decide to actively pursue a move which could force Inter into accepting a lower offer for his services than the €90 million they are demanding.

The Argentine striker’s current deal runs out in June 2023, so the club are now actively working to extend that by at least two years. The player will likely want a pay rise but it is probably in the club’s interest to give him that and protect his value.
