Inter could decide to try and sign Barcelona midfielder Miralem Pjanic on a free transfer this summer, according to a report in the Spanish media today.

As has been reported by Mundo Deportivo, the Bosnian midfielder is no longer seen as a part of Ronald Koeman’s plans and the club desperately needs to lower the amount of money it spends on player wages.

Miralem Pjanic is currently earning €8 million per year in Catalonia, and Barcelona would rather lose him on a free transfer than continue paying those wages to a player who the manager does not want to use.

The 31-year-old only joined Barcelona last season in a swap deal that saw Arthur Melo head to Juventus. The deal has not worked out well for either club or either player.

Inter and Juventus are both now deciding whether to make the move or not, whilst Paris Saint Germain are also in the frame.
