Chelsea’s Davide Zappacosta Emerges As Most Realistic Target For Inter, Italian Media Report

Chelsea’s Davide Zappacosta looks to be the player who Inter are most likely to sign to replace Achraf Hakimi, with the 29-year-old more financially viable than other targets.

This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, who report that the Italian would come cheaper than other main targets Hector Bellerin and Denzel Dumfries.

Hakimi will soon depart for Paris Saint-Germain, and finding a replacement for the Moroccan is a priority in the transfer market for the Nerazzurri, with several names linked.

Arsenal’s Bellerin is a player the Nerazzurri admire very much, but currently the club are only interest in bringing him in on loan in the summer with an option to make his move a permanent one, while the Gunners are holding out for interest in signing the 26-year-old on a permanent basis.

PSV’s Dumfries is another player whose profile is season as an ideal replacement for Hakimi, but at the moment his €20-25 million price tag likely makes him an unrealistic target despite strong interest from Inter.

It is thought that Inter’s budget for a replacement for Hakimi is only around €10 million, and 29-year-old Zappacosta could be seen as the perfect fit within this price range, with the player liked by the Nerazzurri in the right-sided role, versatile and experienced in Serie A.
