Manchester City left-back Benjamin Mendy has emerged as a target for Inter as the Nerazzurri look to strengthen the left-sided options available to coach Simone Inzaghi.

This according to UK news outlet Manchester Evening News, who report that City could be prepared to part with the Frenchman.

It is thought that the arrival of a left-sided player is one of the Nerazzurri’s major priorities in the summer transfer market, with several names having already been linked.

Mendy joins the list, with the club reportedly looking to give the former Marseille and Monaco player a chance to find his best form again after injuries have largely restricted his game-time in Manchester.

The Frenchman made 30 appearances in all competitions last season for the English champions and Champions League finalists, and has made 73 in total since joining in 2016, though the club appear ready to move on from him with a new left-back to replace him believed to be a target at the Etihad.

Should City look to cut their losses, the Nerazzurri could seriously move for the player, though for now it is not thought that serious action has been taken towards making his signing a reality.
