Incoming Inter boss Simone Inzaghi has given his permission to the club to sell Chilean forward Alexis Sanchez.
This according to Italian broadcaster SportMediaset, who reported that the 32-year-old is still liked by the manager, but that his injury record is considered a worry.
Inzaghi has begun the process of assessing the squad at his disposal for next season, and has given consideration to which players he would be willing to let go of.
Sanchez is a player who the manager would like to work with, but the player’s physical condition could mean that the club do not see the desired security in him as a squad member, with the player having a history of being ruled out of matches through injury during his time with the Nerazzurri.
The Chilean has made seventy appearances for the Nerazzurri since joining in the summer of 2019, but his momentum has often been interrupted by spells on the sideline, and has most recently missed all but forty-five minutes of the Copa America with his country due to fitness problems.
It is thought that the player’s desire is for a continued stay at the Giuseppe Meazza, and the club would also like to keep him in the squad, but he is not considered indispensable, and could be sold to make way for an attacking target like Sassuolo’s Giacomo Raspadori.
