Simone Inzaghi wants Inter to sign Keita Balde from Monaco as a replacement for Alexis Sanchez or Lautaro Martinez should either striker depart from the Giuseppe Meazza this summer.

This according to today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, who report that a reunion with the 26-year-old is the Inter manager’s priority should the Nerazzurri target a striker.

Inzaghi and Balde spent multiple seasons together at Lazio, with the Senegalese forward’s development in the youth sector overseen by the new Inter boss before he was also managed by the Italian for two seasons in the Biancocelesti’s senior team.

Balde’s form in his final season in the Italian capital earned him a move to Monaco, where he has since also had loan spells with Inter, in the 2018-19 season, and at Sampdoria during last season.

Should Inter lose either of Lautaro Martinez or Alexis Sanchez, they will have finding a replacement for the attacking rotation available to Inzaghi on the agenda, and the manager is keen on trying to replicate Balde’s impressive form from their time together at Lazio in Nerazzurri colours should that happen.
