Cruzeiro midfielder Romulo has given his thoughts on Inter midfielder Nicolo Barella, predicting that the 24-year-old will be one of the best players in his position in world football.

Speaking to Sky Sport Italia from Brazil, as reported by FCInterNews, the 34-year-old gave his thoughts on Italy’s midfield options at the Euros, paying special attention to the Nerazzurri man.

The Brazilian has extensive experience in Serie A, playing with the likes of Fiorentina, Verona, Juventus, Genoa, Lazio, and Brescia, and he appreciates the qualities of Barella, one of the current stars of the Italian top flight.

He notes that the Inter midfielder has been continuously improving through his time at the Giuseppe Meazza, having already showed signs of the kind of player that he could be while playing for Cagliari.

Barella has been appreciated by Nerazzurri fans and Serie A followers for some time, but the Euros have represented an opportunity for his qualities to become apparent to a wider audience.

Romulo’s words on Barella:

“For 2-3 years Barella has been proving himself to be a top player. He will be one of the strongest in the world eventually.”
