Inter midfielder Stefano Sensi is a target for Fiorentina this summer, with the 25-year-old the preferred midfield signing of new La Viola boss Vincenzo Itliano.

This according to today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, who claim that the incoming manager has asked the Tuscan club to prioritize the arrival of the Inter midfielder.

Sensi arrived at the Giuseppe Meazza in the summer of 2019, but has struggled to make an impact consistently due to injury problems despite signs of his quality when he has been able to appear.

It is not thought that he is a player the club wish to sell, but La Viola could test their resolve with an offer for the player.

It is thought that Gent’s Niklas Dorsch is another midfield target liked by Fiorentina, but there are numerous clubs interested in the 23-year-old German and his price could be driven up from the initial €7-8 million thought to be placed on him by his current club.

Meanwhille, Spezia’s Matteo Ricci and Arsenal’s Lucas Torreira are other possibilities being considered by Fiorentina, though it is thought that Sensi is still their top target.
