Young Inter striker Sebastiano Esposito should be confirmed as a Basel player for next season soon, with the player’s loan move to the Swiss club set to be finished up this evening.

This according to Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia, who report that the 18-year-old’s agent Federico Pastorello has been working to bring the deal to a close in the past days.

Esposito spent last season on loan in Serie B, first with SPAL, and then in the second half of the season, with Venezia, helping the latter side win promotion to Serie A.

Pastorello was at Inter’s headquarters yesterday with the player’s situation a key matter in the discussions, and now the 18-year-old should sign with Basel very shortly.

Esposito is thought to be a player who the Nerazzurri still consider to be a potential part of future plans, but for now he will seek further development at a top-flight level in Switzerland.
