Former Juventus defender Alessio Tacchinardi has given his thoughts on next season’s Scudetto race, and he believes that Inter will be strong contenders for the title under Simone Inzaghi.

Speaking to Italian news outlet Tuttomercatoweb Radio, as reported by FCInter1908, the 45-year-old explained some of the factors which he believed will allow the Nerazzurri to remain strong after last season’s exception exploits in Serie A.

The former defender believes that next year’s Italian title race will be essentially neck-and-neck between the Bianconeri and the Biancocelesti, with the correct choice of a replacement for the departed Antonio Conte at the Giuseppe Meazza a key factor in the Nerazzurri remaining in the hunt for the title.

As he points out, Juventus themselves have successfully replaced Conte in the past, following up the manager’s three Scudetto wins in Turin with five more under Max Allegri and then one further under Maurizio Sarri.

Tacchniardi’s words:

“At Inter, certainties are what Conte built. Replacing him is difficult, but we have seen how he eas replace at Juventus, by Allegri. I think Inzaghi is also a top-notch coach. He will depart from Inter with the team even with Juve in competing for the Scudetto.”
