Fiorentina have backed off in their pursuit of Inter midfielder Stefano Sensi, with the Tuscan club thought to have moved onto another target.

This according to today’s print edition of Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport, who report that La Viola have moved onto Montpellier’s Teji Savanier as their main target.

Sensi is not thought to be a player who the Nerazzurri wish to sell in the summer, with the 25-year-old still hoped to play a major role under Simone Inzaghi should he get past his injury issues from past seasons.

However, the club would consider letting him leave should the right offer arrive, and La Viola are thought to have shown strong interest in the player, with new coach Vincenzo Italiano identifying him as a priority target in midfield.

However, this interest appears to have cooled as La Viola have turned their attention to Savanier, with the Frenchman having also overtaken Gent’s Niklas Dorsch as a midfield target with the German close to an Augsburg move.
