French midfielder Lucien Agoume looks close to agreeing a contract extension with Inter, with the 19-year-old set to stay on at the club until 2024.

This according to Italian news outlet FCInterNews, who report that the player’s agent Crescenzo Cecere was in Milan today to discuss the player’s situation, and that negotiations over his renewal are approaching an end.

Agoume spent last season on loan with newly-promoted Spezia, where he impressed despite only making twelve appearances in total.

The Nerazzurri are thought to consider the player a valuable contributor going forward, whether he is part of the squad next season or goes out on loan, and have been working on an extension in the past weeks.

The midfielder will earn €500,000 a week on his new deal, which takes him until June 30 2024 at the club with the option for one further year.

More will be seen as the deal is finalized, but it appears that the player’s commitment to the club will come soon.
