Inter could be unable to sign attacking target Giacomo Raspadori from Sassuolo this summer, with Neroverdi CEO Giovanni Carnevali clarifying that the 21-year-old is not for sale.
Speaking to Italian news outlet Calciomercato.com, the Sassuolo executive clarified his club’s position on the young striker, who is a part of their plans going into next season.
Raspadori is considered a significant attacking prospect among young Italian players, and his form with the Neroverdi last season earned him a call-up to Roberto Mancini’s Italy squad for the Euros.
Among numerous clubs interested in the striker, Inter are thought to have the strongest interest, with the Nerazzurri in close contact about his availability, hoping to either sign him as a replacement for Lautaro Martinez should the Argentine depart, or as a member of the attacking rotation available to Simone Inzaghi.
However, at the moment, Carnevali’s words suggest that the Neroverdi would be very reluctant to part with Raspadori:
“The coach must have assurances. We have always tried to work on the future. We know that offers can arrive which we can’t turn down, but we are very calm. Speaking with the coach, we also want to build a team that will bring us success. Raspadori comes from our youth sector, and is not on the market.”
