Sebastiano Esposito will depart from Inter this summer, with the player all set to complete a loan move to Swiss club Basel.

This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, who report in today’s print edition that the 18-year-old will join the Swiss side on loan and that they have an option to buy the striker for €8 million.

Esposito spent last season on loan in Serie B with SPAL and then Venezia, helping the latter win promotion to Serie A, and Basel will represent the player’s first opportunity to play more regular top-flight football after having been a marginal figure in Inter’s first team under Antonio Conte.

While Basel have an option to purchase the player on a permanent basis at the end of the loan, the Nerazzurri have also inserted a counter-redemption clause in the deal which would allow them to cancel Basel’s purchase option by making a €1 million payment as though it were an enhancement bonus.
