Lazio Sporting Director Igli Tare has thanked Simone Inzaghi for his work at the Biancocelesti, with the Italian having departed from the Italian capital this summer to join Inter.

Speaking in a press conference unveiling former Empoli, Napoli, and Juventus boss Maurizio Sarri as Lazio manager, Tare took time to express his gratitude for the service of the now-Inter manager.

Inzaghi joined Inter this summer as a replacement for departed head coach Antonio Conte, with the former boss having left the club over disagreements in the direction of the club.

Inzaghi’s appointment was considered quite sudden, and not without controversy, as he left the Biancocelesti to accept the Nerazzurri’s offer within a matter of days, while he had been considering a contract extension offer from his then-club.

However, as Tare’s words show, there is still a great sense of gratitude towards the departed coach, who brought stability and success on the pitch and laid a positive groundwork for Sarri in his five-year-spell as head coach of the first team.

Tare’s words:

“I thank Mr. Inzaghi and his staff for the work done here at Lazio in the last 5 years. We wish him the best for the new adventure at Inter.”
