Inter’s Uruguayan midfielder Matias Vecino has requested to leave the club this summer despite it seeming that he was destined to stay, according to a report in the Italian media.

As has been reported by Calciomercato.com, the player is adamant that his time with Inter has come to an end and he now wants to seek a new challenge.

Matias Vecino is one of the various fringe players that many believed Inter would sell this summer as they look to reduce the wage budget by 15% and end the window with a profit of at least €70 million.

The players desire to leave could mean that Inter will struggle to get as much money for the midfielder as they initially would have if a bid came in organically.

Inter certainly won’t stand in the players way, but it is not yet clear what sort of clubs, if any, are surveying the combative midfielder.
