Inter midfielder Stefano Sensi will not feature in the club’s first pre-season friendly against Lugano because he is getting married that day, according to a report in the Italian print media.

As has been reported by Tuttosport, the 25-year-old midfielder has already given up some days of his holiday so that he can undertake muscle conditioning sessions.

His poor run of injuries has led to doubts about Inter’s faith in the ex-Sassuolo player, so he wants to make sure he is in the best physical shape heading into the new campaign.

He’ll be missing the first chance to impress his new boss on the pitch though when Inter play Lugano in Switzerland because he is marrying his girlfriend, Giulia Amodio in Ostuni.

His most recent injury meant he had to leave the Italy squad before Euro 2020 even started. He was replaced by Atalanta’s Matteo Pessina who has managed to score twice at the tournament.
