Inter midfielder Christian Eriksen is expected to join up with the squad late next week for a series of medical tests following his cardiac arrest at Euro 2020, according to a report in the Italian print media.

As has been reported by Tuttosport, the Danish midfielder will join his teammates at Appiano Gentile to undergo new tests so that Inter can get the clearest possible picture of the players’ health before his future is decided upon.

Christian Eriksen collapsed on the pitch during Denmark’s opening Euro 2020 game against Finland in Copenhagen. He was given CPR on the pitch and taken to hospital where it became clear that he had suffered a cardiac arrest.

He has since been recovering in his villa in Odense and he also had a heart regulator device fitted. It is believed that in order for him to play for Inter again, he would have to be able to prove he can play football without that device.
