Inter look set to enter a transfer battle with AS Roma for Colombian forward Luis Diaz who plays for FC Porto, according to a report in the Portuguese broadcast media.

As was reported on the Portuguese radio station Antena 2, the FC Porto forward has become the lastest talented player from that club to be linked with a move to one of Europe’s top five leagues.

The forward was a key part of Colombia’s Copa America efforts but they were ultimately beaten in the semi-final by Argentina on penalties. Argentina went on to win the tournament.

It is believed that Luis Diaz’s market value is around €18 million but FC Porto did include an €80 million release clause in his current contract.

Despite that release clause, it is very unlikely that FC Porto would actually hold out for such a huge fee. It is likely that should a bid of around €40 million come in, they would allow the player to leave.
