Inter have rejected two formal transfer bids from Sassuolo and Shakhtar Donetsk for young defender Lorenzo Pirola, according to a report in the Italian media today.

As has been reported by FCInter1908 today, the centre-back who spent last season on loan at AC Monza has been attracting major interest for both loan and transfer deals.

There is still a very real chance that he will move back to AC Monza on loan for a second season in Serie B where the club will be hoping to better their achievement of reaching the Serie B play-off semi-final.

Sassuolo have made a bid of €4 million that was turned down by Inter and then the Ukrainian side Shakhtar Donetsk upped it to €6 million but that still was not enough for Inter.

Simone Inzaghi wants to evaluate the player during Inter’s pre-season matches and training sessions and decide whether he could form part of the squad this season or be loaned out.
