Inter striker Lautaro Martinez has expressed his joy and happiness at Argentina’s Copa America triumph on Saturday over Brazil, according to a report in the Argentinian broadcast media.

Whilst speaking to Argentinian TV station TyC Sports after the game, it was clear that this was a monumental achievement for Lautaro Martinez and he feels that Argentina deserved to win the game.

“The truth is that it is something truly dreamed of, indescribable. We were the right winners, now let’s enjoy it. Playing against Brazil is always special and Argentina showed more than them today.”

It was clear from his comments that the Inter man does not hold back when he plays for his national team and feels that all players have a duty to perform.

“It is a clear example of how you have to defend this shirt, this emblem, this country: I am proud to belong to this group, of all the work we have done.”

For Argentina, the win is massive as they suffered the heartbreak of losing the FIFA World Cup final against Germany with a Mario Gotze strike in extra time. It is also the first international tournament that Lionel Messi has won with Argentina, which many fans in the country believe is a right of passage to receive the level of adoration that Diego Maradona enjoyed.
