Belgian defender Zinho Vanheusden has signed a contract extension with Inter in preparation for his loan move to Genoa.
This according to Italain news outlet L’Interista, who report that the 21-year-old has renewed for an additional four years, to be added to the one year already left on his contract, and is all set to move to the Ligurian club.
Vanheusden returned to Inter on a permanent basis this summer from Standard Liege, with the Nerazzurri exercising a buyback clause in the original sale which saw him join Standard from Inter in 2019.
It is thought that the player is still in the long-term plans for the Nerazzurri, but that that club do not have a place for him in the first team for next season, and are hoping that time spent out on loan next season will allow him to develop his game.
Genoa have jumped to the front of the list of clubs interested in acquiring the young Belgian’s signature, and will sign Vanheusden on a loan deal which includes the right of redemption, with Inter having the right of counter-redemption.
