Argentine club Boca Juniors have inquired about the availability of Inter midfielder Arturo Vidal.

This according to Italian news outlet L’Interista, who report that the Argentine club are looking to sign the 34-year-old, but that his salary is a major obstacle to a deal.

Vidal is thought to be a player who the Nerazzurri wish to offload in the summer, with the Chilean’s net €8 million salary considered far too high for their balance sheet and the player not considered an important contributor in plans for next season.

The Chilean arrived last season, and played a role in the club’s first Scudetto triumph in eleven years, making thirty appearances in all competitions under Antonio Conte.

However, the club are hoping to move him on in the summer, with multiple clubs thought to be interested and Boca reportedly joining the list.

The problem for the Argentine giants, and for the other European and South American clubs after the midfielder, are his wages, thought to be a likely insurmountable obstacle for Boca as it stands.
