Inter Vice President Javier Zanetti has spoken about the situation of striker Lautaro Martinez at Inter.

In an interview with Argentine broadcaster Canal IP, reported by FCInterNews, the Argentine was asked about his countryman and stated that he is aware of interest in the striker but that the player is happy at the club.

Martinez has been linked with moves away in the window or in the future to top European clubs, with Spanish giants Barcelona, Real Madrid, and Atletico Madrid thought to be heavily interested in signing him.

However, for the time being he is only committed to Inter, and the Nerazzurri also want to keep a hold of the 23-year-old who is seen as a vital player in the project going forward.

Zanetti’s words show that he understands that keeping the Argentine at the club will not be easy given his status as a top player, but reaffirm that the will is there to do so and that for now the player is not looking for a move away.

His words when asked about interest in Martinez:

“It is normal when you have great players, but today he is an Inter player and he is very happy to be part of our squad.”
