Valentino Lazaro could be on his way to Benfica this summer, with the Portuguese club looking to bring the Inter winger in on loan with an option to buy for next season.

This according to Italian broadcaster SportItalia, who report that the Lisbon-based club will consider the feasibility of bringing Lazaro in and like the player.

Lazaro joined the Nerazzurri from Hertha in the summer of 2019 but failed to cement a place in the starting eleven, getting sent out on loan to Newcastle United in the second half of his first season with the club before returning to the Bundesliga last season with Borussia Monchengladbach on loan.

The Nerazzurri consider the player to be for sale, with the Austrian not in the first-team plans for next season and the club looking to bring in transfer revenue from the sales of fringe squad members.

It remains to be seen whether Benfica’s interest will take the form of a concrete offer, though they are reported to be seriously considering the player.
