Inter winger Valentino Lazaro could be on the move this summer, with Portuguese side Benfica thought to be interested in bringing the 25-year-old in.

This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, who report that the Lisbon-based club could move for Lazaro after completing the signing of Joao Mario yesterday.

Lazaro arrived at the Giuseppe Meazza from Hertha Berlin in the summer of 2019, but has never managed to establish himself in the team, having been sent away on loan in the second half of his first season to Newcastle United before returning to the Bundesliga to spend last season on loan with Borussia Monchengladbach.

Benfica are interested in the Austrian, and could make a move for him with the player firmly in the shop window for the Nerazzurri.

Should an acceptable offer arrive for the player, the Nerazzurri would be more than happy to offload the player’s wages and receive a fee for him.
