Hakan Calhanoglu has chosen his shirt number with Inter, and will wear Number 20 next season with the Nerazzurri.
This according to today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, who report that the Turkish midfielder has begun training with the club and is ready to be unveiled on the pitch soon.
Calhanoglu arrived at Inter training for the first time, where he convened with many of his new teammates before having athletic tests and working in the gym.
The new Nerazzurri signing should soon be integrated into the squad after training together under manager Simone Inzaghi, and is expected to be ready to take the pitch during the club’s pre-season tour of the US which they leave for on the 22nd, although it is uncertain whether he will be available for the opening friendly against Lugano.
For when the 27-year-old makes his first appearance as a Nerazzurri player, he has picked out a shirt number, and will wear the Number 20 shirt familiar as that of Uruguayan attacker and Nerazzuri icon Alvaro Recoba.
At previous clubs Bayer Leverkusen and AC Milan Calhanoglu wore the Number Ten shirt, but with that number taken by Lautaro Martinez he has opted for 20 instead.
