Inter have been offered Porto’s Luiz Diaz, but are not able to meet the Portuguese club’s demand of €40 million for the 24-year-old as it stands.

This according to today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, who report that the Portuguese left-winger could arrive at the Giuseppe Meazza as a solution to the club’s need for a left-sided player.

The arrival of a left-sided player is thought to be a major priority for the Nerazzurri in the summer transfer window, with Ashley Young having departed for Aston Villa and Ivan Perisic’s sale also a possibility.

Many names have come up among the possible arrivals in the position, as the club look to balance finding the correct profile for the needs of head coach Simone Inzaghi with budgetary concerns.

Porto’s Diaz could be a strong candidate for the role, however the Portuguese side’s asking price would currently represent a significant obstacle to his arrival.
