Agent Federico Pastorello has confirmed that Inter are still considering a move for Monaco striker Keita Balde.

Speaking to Italian news outlet FCInterNews after leaving a meeting with Nerazzurri directors at Inter headquarter, the agent explained that the player is still a target for the club and for manager Simone Inzaghi.

Pastorello explained the purpose of his visit, stating that he was not discussing the situation of striker Romelu Lukaku at the club, and that the Belgian has no problems with his current situation.

Rather, the agent was attending to address the situation of Balde, another of his clients, who has been linked to the Nerazzurri during the window.

The Senegalese striker has worked with Inzaghi before during the pair’s time together at Lazio, in addition to having been at Inter on loan for a period during the 2018-19 season, before returning to Serie A last season on loan with Sampdoria.

Asked how the meeting with Inter directors went, Pastorello explained that “It went well, we took stock of various situations.”

Asked whether Inter are secure in their situation with Lukaku he had this to say:

“Yes, sure sure. Romelu is on vacation and I think he deserves a holiday like he’s taking, there are no problems.”

Next he was asked if he was speaking to the Nerazzurri about the situation of Valentino Lazaro, to which he responded:

“No, no. I’m here to talk about Keita, to talk about his situation. Let’s see.”

He gave some insight into the likelihood of Balde’s arrival this summer:

“Yes, he is being evaluated. Much will depend on the departures that take place.”

Asked whether he is optimistic about the prospect of a deal for Balde, he stated, “Eh, let’s see,” and he closed stating this about Inzaghi:

“He knows [Balde] very well, he is evaluating him.”
