New Inter manager Simone Inzaghi wants to keep all three of the defensive trio who won the Scudetto under Antonio Conte last season.

This according to Italian news outlet FCInterNews, who report that the head coach for next season has deemed all of Alessandro Bastoni, Stefan de Vrij, and Milan Skriniar to be essentially unsellable.

Each of the three defenders showed excellent form last season as the Nerazzurri kept the best defensive record in Serie A, and attention from top European clubs has inevitably been directed at them.

However, the new coach has been clear in his views, and has given the club a directive to turn down offers for any of them, as he wants to build his team around a strong defensive base next season.

Inzaghi, like his predecessor Conte, prefers to play a formation with three central defenders, and will almost certainly rely on the three above-mentioned players as his first-choice backline.
