Inter Owned Striker Sebastiano Esposito: “I Want To Bring FC Basel Back To The Top”

Sebastiano Esposito has expressed his ambition for next season, with the young striker joining Basel on loan from Inter.

In a post made by the Swiss club’s official account, the 19-year-old gives his words outlining what he hopes to achieve in Switzerland next season.

The player joins Basel on loan from the Nerazzurri, with the prospect of regular top-flight football a logical next step in the young striker’s promising career.

Esposito spent last season on loan in Serie B, first with SPAL and then with Venezia, helping the latter win promotion to Serie B, and his ambition will be to find success in the Swiss Super League.

Basel are historically the most second successful club in Switzerland after Grasshopper, and have maintained a strong record in recent years with multiple title wins and regular Champions League participation.

However, last year the club finished a distant second behind champions Young Boys, and they have not won a top flight title since 2017.

Esposito will hope that he can bring the club back to the pinnacle of the Swiss game next season,

His words:

“My name is Sebastiano Esposito. I’m 19 and I’m a striker. On the pitch I really like playing with the ball at my feet, but if there is space to attack, I attack it. I really like to talk to other strikers. Off the pitch I think I’m a positive, sunny guy, and I really like to laugh. Why am I here? I want to do great things, and I think this club needs to get back to the top. Past years have not gone very well, but I hope and believe that this year we can do great things.”
