This is according to the Nerazzurri via the club’s official homepage, where it is confirmed that the Austrian tested positive for the virus during the preliminary double-test undertaken by all squad members before retiring to the pre-season training camp last week.
The player is currently in isolation as a precaution, and he will have another test administered at some point within the next few days to gain more understanding of his situation.
The 25-year-old is not reported to have shown any symptoms of the virus, but will nevertheless stay in isolation as a precaution until more is known.
It is not clear what the ramifications are yet, and whether any other teammates or staff he has come into contact with could test positive for the virus.
