Inter are prioritizing the departure of midfielder Arturo Vidal this summer, and are willing to make financial sacrifice to facilitate a move away for the 34-year-old.
This according to today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, who report that the Nerazzurri will allow the Chilean to leave for free, and would consider making a severance payment.
Vidal was signed from Barcelona, but it is already thought that the Nerazzurri wish to offload the midfielder, with the net €7 million owed to him on the remaining season of his deal considered excessive for a player not in the centre of plans for the upcoming season.
Numerous clubs are interested in the player, but as it stands no club has come forward who could accommodate the salary which Inter wish to offload, even without a transfer fee involved.
The Nerazzurri are considering making a small financial sacrifice of a severance fee in order to avoid the larger blow of having to pay out the entirety of the wages owed to the player, should it mean he is off their books for next season.
