Premier League side Liverpool want to sign Inter midfielder Nicolo Barella, and are ready to make an offer worth €70 million for the 24-year-old.

This according to Italian news outlet Calciomercato.com, who report that the Nerazzurri have no intention of accepting any offers for the player, and are instead preparing a contract extension offer for him.

The Reds are considering Barella a serious target, with the midfielder seen by the Merseyside club to be a potential long-term midfield solution.

To this end, they are willing to make a significant financial commitment to attempt to sign him.

However, the Nerazzurri regard the player as unsellable, with the former Cagliari midfielder being crucial to the long-term thinking of the club.

It is understood that the club will offer Barella a new contract during the summer which will take him beyond the summer of 2024 when his current deal expires, and is promised to include a significant wage increase from the net €2.5 million per season that he currently earns.
