Should Inter sign a striker this summer, their first-choice target is Monaco’s Keita Balde.

This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Libero, who report that the Senegalese striker could be brought in as backup to the starting duo of Romelu Lukaku and Lautaro Martinez.

Balde has already spent one season with the Nerazzurri, having been loaned out to the club during the 2018-19 season, and spent a further season on loan in Serie A with Sampdoria last season.

Additionally, the player’s history with Nerazzurri head coach Simone Inzaghi could play in his favour, with the pair having enjoyed success together while the 26-year-old was playing under the now-Inter manager at Lazio.

These factors could make the player an attractive option for the club, although with the need to strengthen the squad in other areas and the restrictions on spending due to strict financial targets to be met for the summer, it is unclear whether a striker will be brought in at all.
