Defender Stefan de Vrij is expected to join up with the rest of Inter’s squad on the weekend, with the Dutchman arriving at the club’s pre-season training camp soon.

This according to today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, who report that the 29-year-old is set to finish up with his holidays and begin preparations for the upcoming season.

As with a number of Nerazzurri players, de Vrij has been occupied by international duty for part of the summer, and has needed to postpone his holiday while he played with the Dutch national side during the Euros.

The much-needed vacation after the assertions of last season with the Nerazzurri followed by the Euros is set to be nearing its end, however, and de Vrij looks ready to return to Inter to begin work for next season.

The defender will join the squad members who have already started the pre-season training camp last week, and will get his first opportunity to work closely with new Inter head coach Simone Inzaghi, who he also worked with at Lazio for a period, while he gets himself back into top physical condition.
