Inter have absolutely no intention of selling Nicolo Barella this summer even if an eye-watering bid were to be made by Liverpool, according to a report in the Italian media.

As has been reported by La Gazzetta dello Sport, Liverpool are extremely interested in the Sardinian midfielder after his wonderful Scudetto winning season with Inter followed by his brilliant performances for Italy as Gli Azzurri won Euro 2020.

A bid in the region of €70 million has been rumoured which is enough to make almost any club change their mind given the effect the coronavirus pandemic has had on so many clubs.

Inter are standing strong, though, and are actually seeking to reward Nicolo Barella for his form with a new contract. He currently earns €2.5 million a season and that deal runs out in 2024.

Even though the club have said they don’t want to hand out big wage increases right now, they feel Nicolo Barella’s situation warrants one.
