Inter’s first pre-season friendly against FC Lugano will be an opportunity for Simone Inzaghi to evaluate some youngsters ahead of the new campaign, according to a report in the Italian media today.

As has been reported by Tuttosport, the starting eleven for the game against the Swiss opponent will only feature two players that are considered first-team starters. They will be Slovenian goalkeeper Samir Handanovic, and Milan Skriniar.

The reason for this is that Inter have a host of senior players who took part in international tournaments this summer. The European Championship featured the likes of Romelu Lukaku, Nicolo Barella, Alessandro Bastoni, Marcelo Brozovic and more.

Meanwhile, the Copa America featured Lautaro Martinez, Matias Vecino, Alexis Sanchez, and Arturo Vidal.

This means younger players such as Lucien Agoume, Federico Dimarco and Andrea Pinamonti will likely get to start the game and show why they should become part of Simone Inzaghi’s plans.
