The new Inter coach has made it clear again to the club that he would like to keep Alexis Sanchez as part of his team next season so he can provide backup to Romelu Lukaku and Lautaro Martinez, according to a report in the Italian print media.

As has been reported by Corriere dello Sport, Simone Inzaghi is a serious fan of the Chilean and despite his repetitive injury issues, he wants to keep working with him into the new season.

Alexis Sanchez struggled to settle into life at Inter when he first moved from Manchester United after a spell that somewhat derailed his career, but he proved to be a very key rotation option towards the end of Antonio Conte’s Scudetto winning campaign.

His main issue has been fitness. He regularly picks up muscle injuries which limit his impact in the team. He is also earning €7 million a year at Inter which is now a problem for the club.
