New Inter boss Simone Inzaghi will be keeping a very close eye on Federico Dimarco during the first pre-season friendly against FC Lugano this evening, according to a report in the Italian print media.

As has been reported by Tuttosport in today’s edition, the left-back who had an impressive campaign with Hellas Verona last season will be of paramount interest to Simone Inzaghi during the game against the Swiss opposition.

This is because left-back has become a problem position for the Nerazzurri as no player is currently viewed as good enough to give Simone Inzaghi what he wants there.

Federico Dimarco does have the potential though and Simone Inzaghi wants to see if he should become part of the squad or be used as part of a deal to bring a new player in.

A factor on the Italian’s side is that he can also play on the left side of three centre-backs.
