An ex-footballer has suggested that Inter will be one of the major players in the transfer window as the summer develops, according to a report in the Italian media.

Whilst speaking to Tuttomercatoweb, Beppe Accardi discussed who the big hitters will be in the summer transfer market. He highlighted the expected teams towards the top of the table, including Inter.

He also suggested that AS Roma could spring some surprises now that they have Jose Mourinho in charge.

“The protagonists will always be Inter, AC Milan, and Juventus. Keep an eye on AS Roma.”

Beppe Accardi also thinks that the transfer market will take some time before it fully explodes into life. This is likely because many clubs do not fully know the impact of the coronavirus pandemic on their finances yet, so they are waiting before making many major sales or purchases.

“It is a slow market, which will start in the last days of August as always. I don’t believe in striking blows.”

Inter acted quickly in selling Achraf Hakimi to Paris Saint Germain but it is now taking some time to get other fringe players out the door to raise money and reduce the wage bill.
