Representatives of both Inter and Cagliari will meet on Wednesday to further discuss the possible transfer of Nahitan Nandez to the Nerazzurri, according to a report in the Italian media.

As has been reported by FcINternews, Wednesday could be a pivotal day in the long-running negotiations between Inter and the Rossoblu as Inter finally seek to secure the signing of the Uruguayan midfielder.

Inter want to sign the versatile player to act partially as a replacement for Achraf Hakimi who recently joined Paris Saint Germain, but also to provide cover in the midfield when required by Simone Inzaghi.

They would prefer the deal to be a season-long loan with the option to buy the player at the end of it for an agreed fee. Cagliari will likely prefer the final purchase to be compulsory.

Andrea Pinamonti could form part of the discussions as well because Cagliari may need to replace one of their strikers soon.
